STEP 01
Standardize job titles
Agree the designation names needed for the company and how similar roles should be represented. A designation describes the job; it does not by itself establish every responsibility or permission.
STEP 02
Maintain designations
Use the Designations destination in company organization settings. Review existing records and supported fields before adding or updating a title.
STEP 03
Check employee records
Assign the designation to the relevant employees, then check department, reporting manager and employment information. Review role and employee permissions independently when responsibilities change.
Before you finish
- Designation names are consistent.
- The employee’s organization fields agree with the actual role.
- No access grant is assumed from a job title alone.
